Predator Free 2050 Limited was established to help deliver the New Zealand Government’s ambitious goal of eradicating possums, stoats and rats by 2050.

We provide co-funding to enable predator control and eradication projects at large landscape scale and the breakthrough science needed to underpin them.

We occasionally solicit expressions of interest from community and council-led groups, assess them against criteria, work with other funders and develop contracts to enable delivery.

We currently have five projects underway, enabling predator control to eradication projects over 254,000 ha over five years. We plan to contribute $23.3m towards total project costs of $89.7m. Two more projects are in the pipeline.

We also contributing $1m per annum towards breakthrough science guided by our Research Strategy.
